Please do not bring gifts. We’re so grateful many of you are willing to travel for the wedding - that is plenty!

Most of you have now booked your stay—well done! If you haven’t yet, please do so ASAP to secure your room (see "How to Book" section below). We’ll be gathering around the beautiful Lake Starnberg, and we can't wait to welcome you there.

Getting There

The closest and most convenient airport is Munich Airport, just under an hour from the hotels and the wedding festivities.

By Car or Uber

Uber is available in Germany and is often the easiest way to get around—just be prepared for some speedy autobahn action! Taxis are also an option, but many do not accept card payments, so make sure to bring cash (euros).

By Train

If you’d rather take public transport, here’s how to get from Munich Airport to Starnberg:

1. Take the S1 or S8 S-Bahn from Flughafen München (Airport) toward central Munich. Trains run about every 10 minutes.

2. Transfer at München-Laim or Karlsplatz/Stachus to the S6 toward Tutzing/Starnberg.

3. Ride to Starnberg Hauptbahnhof (~25 min from Laim).

4. From there, take a local taxi (usually available at the station), or pre-book one with:

Tip: Buy an MVV day ticket (Zone M–5) for about €15.50.

Things to Bring

Warm Clothes — If the weather is nice our Events will take Place outside. Please bring warm jackets for the late evenings.

Swimwear – The hotels have a spa and sauna that opens right onto Lake Starnberg. Germans often sauna nude, but we recommend bringing swimwear—if you're tempted by a chilly dip.

Hiking Boots – The area is surrounded by beautiful woodland and hiking trails. Bring sturdy shoes if you'd like to explore.

Cash – Many places, including taxis and small shops, don’t accept cards, so make sure to carry euros.

How to Book Your Room

You’ll need to call or email to make your reservation. You cannot use our code on their website.

Steps to Book:

1. Check out rooms on the hotel websites.

2. Fill your room sensibly – e.g.

   • 1 person → book a single room

   • 2 people → book a double room (split the cost!)

   • 3 singles → share a double room with an extra bed

3. Call or email your chosen hotel with your room request and the code "Leonore and Alex" to get the discounted rate.
